This is a sequel to Journey to the Centre of the Earth, which I have never seen. Apparently it is terrible and stars Brendan Fraser who isn't in this one. Josh Hutcherson is in both and reprises his role in the sequel. The Rock is in it which instantly makes it better than the first film.
